At first we were not sure if A liked school this year or not. Every time we would ask him about it, he would just SCREAM! (I am starting to wonder if that is a typical boy thing). When we would pull into the parking lot he would say that he wanted to go to his "little school". Last year I had to walk him in to his classroom. This year we do carpool. I finally figured out that the reason he wanted to go to "little school" was to see his classmates from last year. Somehow this year not a single one of them ended up in his class. So I began to worry that maybe Sardis wasn't right for him this year. And believe me, driving 30 minutes each way was not helping that thought! (Esp with gas being so scarce around here for several weeks!!).
Well, he has been in school just over a month. Now I can tell he loves it! He talks about 2 friends Noah and Daniel all the time. I read his calendar each morning and tell him what he will be doing at school that day. Now he asks me "what we doing at school today my mommy?". I cannot believe how much he has learned in a month!!!!
(1) how to count correctly (old way- 1,2,3,6,7,8,9,10)
(2)most of his ABC's
(3)his days of the week
(4)a blessing that he sings for us at supper
(5)several songs, including the itsy bitsy spider
(6)and much much more!!
Its so funny how they have patientence (sp?) with their teachers, and that he would NEVER listen to me teach him all of this stuff!!! Thank you Sardis!!
My little boy is growing up so fast! I guess its time for another one.........good thing one is in the oven!!

Preschool is some much fun for the kids. Both B & G loved preschool and you are right they learned so much more with their teachers than they would have with me. I'm glad he decided that he does like it there. And they do grow up way to fast.
I know exactly what you mean about doing more for the teachers! That is why I don't homeschool, lol. My kids love their preschool too, glad A is having a fun time while some learning is snuck into there. :) Isn't it funny how they skip some numbers but others are ingrained into their memory? S used to say 1,2,3,4,5,6,11,8,9,10,11,12,13,18,20 teen. Is was hilarious!
