Valentine's Cookies

Here are my heart cookies! They were supposed to have decorations, but looks like I ran out of time! At least I got the icing on! I used a different recipe this year. I liked the way the icing hardened up, but I'm not so sure that I like the cookie recipe. Its always real hard for me to tell if a dessert that I make is really good or just ok. I guess that's what happens when you taste often while you are making!!

SUGAR COOKIES/ICING FOR COOKIES

1 tsp. baking powder

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla all together. Add egg. Beat until light and fluffy. Stir in milk. Stir in sifted dry ingredients. Blend well. Divide dough in half. Chill 1 hour or more.Roll dough on floured board to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut with a floured cookie cutter.
Bake on cookie sheet, in a 375 degree oven, for 8 minutes. Cool. Store in tightly covered container.
Makes 4 dozen cookies. Frost with icing.

They look really cute! Are the cookies the crunchy kind or the soft kind?

some are crunchy and some soft. depended on how thin you roll the dough. i like them both ways, but i think i prefer the thicker.
