At Hawk Ridge they do one major fund raiser for the year....BOOSTERTHON FUN RUN!!! At first I did not like the idea at all. Everyday for at least a week and a half, A came home from school talking about it, and asking me if I would donate such and such so he could get a football or launch rocket or yadda yadda yadda. Oh, and could he please get online and watch this video..... Well somehow he talked his GranGran and Grandmama into donating $2 per lap each. And so J and I finally gave in and pledged $1 per lap. Come Wednesday am, the day to run, A really wanted me to go. Well, the Kindergarteners were scheduled to run at 8am. We all know how hard it is to get an 8 week old and a 23 month old out the door by 7:50am, not to mention me getting myself ready, hopefully remembering to brush my teeth!!! Well we got up there double stroller and all just in time! The kids were so pumped! It was really neat to watch. In the end I decided that hey- I do like this FunRun!
They wore T-shirts and each time they completed a lap (1/16th of a mile) a teacher crossed off a number on their back. A ran 27 laps!!! WAY TO GO ARLEN!!!! At the end of the day, the school raised over $31,000. I'd say thats a pretty good day.
