Eddy/Campbell/Daly Beach Trip Part I

This year Liz and I decided to venture out and try a ~NEW~ place for a beach trip. We went to Oak Island, NC. My parents have friends that used to own a house there, so everyone was pretty familiar with the territory, which was nice. We chose a 4 bedroom house on the second row. The access to the beach was diagonally across the street, so very close. One very nice thing about this house was that you could see the ocean from the front porches and the waterway from the back porches.

I took both of my cameras on the trip. I was a little hesitant to take my ~fancy~ camera down to the beach, so I never did. Here is a selection of everyone hanging out (I failed to get any good pics of my mom or me with this camera- so hopefully when I upload the pics from the point and shoot camera I will have some good ones).

We stayed at the house and on the beach most of the time. We ventured out once as a crew to the Provision Company for lunch in Southport. Very neat place. The only other places we went to were grocery stores. Very relaxing. I didn't get to spend much time with J. I knew it would be a challenge to go to the beach with 3 children under the age of 6, but had no clue how much of a challenge. Whew! It seems like as soon as we got to the beach, someone had to pee or eat or nap or something other than what Mommy had planned. I quickly learned to accept that, and just GET OVER IT.

A big thanks to everyone for helping out with the kids. We could NOT have done it without each and every one of you!!!

i love going to the beach with the niece and nephews. We ALWAYS bring a cooler of water and varied snacks, etc so we're not running back and forth to the beach, but of course it still happens from time to time :). glad you guys had so much fun! wish our times could have matched up better so we could have seen you! we really like going to the marina there to eat, but it's usually quite a wait unless you show up right at 5:00 to eat dinner--good food though!
