So-long Kindergarten.....

We were so lucky to get Mrs. Stultz for Arlen's Kindergarten teacher. She was absolutely wonderful. She has been a teacher for 30 years, and really knows how to handle those kids! I cannot believe that she has 24 5 and 6 year olds to herself everyday from 7:30-1:45. How does she do it?  With all of the budget cuts there is a shared teachers assistant. Mrs. Stultz gets her for about 1 or 2 hours a day. Everyone keeps asking me" how do I like CMS" and "isn't it so terrible" and "I would never put my child in CMS" ....yadda....yadda...yadda...
When we were looking to move from Hammond Drive, the school district was a MAJOR factor on selecting a home. I did some research and found the Elementary School that I wanted my children to attend, and basically only looked in that area. We are EXTREMELY happy with Hawk Ridge. We love it!! Each day they have a parent volunteer to help with centers. I have no idea how other schools that don't have as many volunteers do it. Actually, I finally figured out how to sign up to volunteer about a month or so into school. For the entire year there were only 2 days left to sign up, both of which I had conflicts...AMAZING. There were 2 co-class parents and 6 assistant class parents for Arlen's class. Crazy, huh?

Amazing how much they change in 9 short months. He's reading and writing and adding!! Whoa!!
