First Day of Preschool
Clarke had her first day of preschool today! It was a half day for the 2 year olds, so from 9:30-11:30. I asked her on Monday at breakfast what her teachers names were. I about fell out of my chair when she quietly said Miss Liz and Miss Cheryl! I didn't think she was really paying attention when I told her their names. And she has only met them one time for one hour! Talk about ready for school!
I was unable to get her to do the traditional first day of school picture standing by the front door, but oh well, these will have to do! She is very proud to wear her bookbag. When we got to school she dropped it off in the hallway by her name and headed right on into the class room. She didn't even look back!
And here's a close up of her shiner for the first day. This one actually happened from a fall at Sears. We are so used to her going around with a bruise on her head that its really not a big deal, but it sure looks bad! The first thing Miss Liz said was "wow! That's a big booboo. Is she ok???"
So after I killed some time, got Starbucks and did a little FB-ing I went to go get her! I was early! I couldn't stand it!! She got a very good report. The teacher said that there was no crying in the entire class. All 10 of the kids were quietly sitting at the table. She said, "Clarke, your mom is here". Clarke came running with the biggest smile! She didn't really want to leave. She had a great time. She peepeed in the potty, washed her hands, had a snack, and played with the kids. She really loved it. She told me more about her day than I can get out of my 1st grader with a LOT of prying!!! Let's hope Thursday goes just as well!
