1. Established a babysitter. This has been something that I have wanted to do. It is so hard to trust someone with your kids, especially when you have 3. We are so lucky to have so much family close by that help us with the kids. I have been wanting, for some time now, a non-family member to watch our kids. Just so I have that option. On Tuesday I had a meeting at work. I got a girl that lives down the street to come sit. This required her to pick A up from the bus stop and everything! A little scary. And it turned out OK, she just needs a little more experience, and that will just have to come with time :) The kids seemed to really like her, and everyone was happy when I came home! So that being said, I think it was a success, as long as C didn't scare her away with her brief crying/screaming episode. I tried to warn Sam, but I just don't think there is any way to prepare someone for her behavior.
2. Read. I don't have time to read. Let me rephrase that- I don't make time to read. So, I started "The Help" this week. I'll let you know how that goes. The first chapter kept my attention.
3. Made dinner. I have been so spoiled lately. J is a fantastic cook, and he has been cooking all of the dinners for quite sometime now. I know that he probably would love to have a break every once in a while. On Wednesday he had to go into the office, so I surprised him with Manicotti, a salad, and some freshly baked rosemary/garlic bread. It was delish- I must say so myself. It was ready on the table when he got home.
4. Shopping. Since C is in preschool 2 days a week from 9:30-1 I have a little free time on my hands that I am not used to having. I am going to try to make the most of it and be productive, but I have to remember to have some fun once in a while. So, on Thurs I dropped her off and L and I decided to go do a little shopping. We went to Marshalls/Home Goods to take a look a round. I really wanted to test him out in a shopping cart seat (excuses, excuses). He was so well behaved! He loved it! We shopped around for about an hour or so, and he had no complaints!! Rock on!
5. Vacuumed the stairs. I know, it was way overdue. And yes, I would love to rip up the carpet on the stairs, but that's a project for another day.
6. Laundry Room Reno. So we started on the laundry room this week. I spackled and sanded some holes in the walls (first time, I'm learning) and painted the ceiling (a real pain in the neck). J ended up spraying it with his paint sprayer after I attempted 2 coats and it still didn't look good. Thanks J!
7. Date Night! J and I went out on Friday night for several hours. We had a great dinner and a great time together!! Thanks to my friend for playing with the kids!
Now let's hope that I can keep up with the accomplishments in addition to the normal everyday adventures!!
