Our Garden Update

Here is a shot of the progress of the vegetable garden. J has started everything from seeds this year. A couple of our plants got hit by a late frost and we had to start them over. We have already harvested some spinach and tonight had our first squash!! Yum! 

I have been working hard to get my butterfly garden started. Here is my little helper. 

And my other two little helpers....

J has been a tremendous help. He got the mulch for the beds a few weekends ago. It looks great and really helps keeps the weeds out and the moisture in. We hope to do all of the flower beds with mulch soon!

He also helped me plant my butterfly bush. The kids and I love looking for nature around our yard. We have spotted several new types of butterflies around. The littles like to chase them. We have noticed that some are very fast fliers and some are slow.
