Kaya is at the vet having surgery today. She has luxating patellas, that give her great pain. Basically her kneecaps fall out of place. This is very common in Chihuahuas and Jack Russells. It usually doesn't cause much pain, just inconveinence. Well, for Kaya, its REAL painful. It was very sad to drop her off. They said that we could probably pick her up tomorrow afternoon, but it might even be Thursday! How could it possibly be a good idea to leave her overnight at the vet where no one is there? At least if I bring her home, I can be up with her all night if she needs me! But, I have to obey the rules. We are having the left leg done today. Recovery takes about 6 weeks. Then, if she needs the other one, we will have it done too. I never thoguht that I would EVER spend this much money on a dog!! Crazy! There goes our new fence fund!
