First Day of First Grade!
Alarm was set for 6:07 am (yes- I set alarms for strange times!). It was still dark out and the house was quiet. I went into the kids room to wake Arlen and found Clarke on the floor beside her bed with her head on a pillow (I'm wondering if she fell off the bed or what? ). I quietly woke Arlen, in hopes that Clarke would stay asleep- and she did! Arlen and I went downstairs to eat breakfast and pack his lunch. It was nice having some one on one time with him- we don't get that often.
Here's our front door first day of school picture. He picked out his clothes. He said, "Mom, I will look handsome in this shirt." He says that about collared shirts! Funny.
He was a little nervous this morning. I'm not real sure why. We went and met his teacher Mrs. Mahaffey on Tuesday. He seemed really impressed with the classroom and his desk. Last year they sat at tables, this year he has his own desk! He also thought it was cool that his desk was near the teachers desk.
The bus came at 7:14- a few minutes after the scheduled 7:11am. I was impressed for the driver being so close to on time for the first day! I'm a little sad because we do not have the same driver as we did last year. She really liked Arlen and our family. I'm hoping this one is just as good- I know that I have high hopes!
Let's go MOM! I can't wait for him to come home and tell me about his day! Its going to be a long time until 3:07 pm today!!

It's funny you mentioned the time of the alarm clock... I set mine for funny times too and mostly with #7 in it. Must be a mental thing ;) lol
