Summer Work
So, at the beginning of the summer I was determined to make sure that A was not going to forget everything he learned in kindergarten over the summer. I made him a summer workbook. I divided it into 4 sections. Math, Reading, Writing and Coloring. The first week or two it was "fun" to do worksheets, and then it got boring and "not fun". So, I kind of eased up and decided we could skip it. Well with that I also eased up on the reading daily as well- not a good idea. A couple of weeks ago I asked him to read- and well, he had definitely lost some of his skill. Amazing. Thank goodness we started back reading a couple of weeks prior to starting school!
Of course since I made A a notebook, I made C one too. She loves to draw and color. She loves markers. We are starting her in a 2 day a week church preschool this year. We cannot wait, and neither can she. She is so ready academically, now socially, we will see how that goes. I have driven past her new school and shown it to her. We also checked out some books at the library about preschool and sharing and following the rules. I hope this helps her out in that department!
